Dry Skin: The leading cause of dryness in skin

When less oil is produced by your oil glands it causes that dry skin problem. This often starts in winter, when there is less humidity. The most affected areas are face, arms, chest, abdomen, thighs. This makes the skin tight after a shower and causes cracks and itchiness.


Reasons for Dry Skin are:


Cold, less humidity, pollution, use of harsh soaps and excessive use of make-up. Sometimes it happens due to nutrient deficiencies. Skin problems like eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.


Remedies for Dry Skin

  • Massage the skin every night before going to bed with almond oil, olive oil or sesame seed oil.

  • Soak your skin in to bath tub with lukewarm water, add 1cup of milk, 1 tabs of glycerine for 10 minutes. (Please avoid use of hot water).

  • Make a paste of ripe Banana and 1tbspoon glycerine, and apply it on skin leave it for 10 minutes, than shower with lukewarm water.

  • Castor Oil and Fresh Avocado is very useful in severe cases of dry skin.

  • For Cracked and dry lips, massage it with unsalted butter or thicken milk cream mix with some drops of rose water and lemon juice.

  • For normal dry skin make a paste of 1 ripe pawpaw and 1 tabs of honey apply it for 15 minutes before shower.

  • After bath apply Aloe Vera gel(cut leaf of aloe Vera and use the fresh gel)

  • Soak 10 almond in to milk overnight make a paste and apply on the skin for 15-20 minutes. Wash alternatively with cold and warm water.

  • Add 5-6 drops of lavender oil and oat extract to your bath.

  • Use your own cleanser of honey and cooked oatmeal for cleanse and moisturize the face.

  • Mix raw milk with 1 tsp mustard paste and leave for 15 -20 minute.


These natural remedies and regular exercise will improve the blood circulation and encourage blood flow providing nourishment to the skin.


Eat fruit, vegetables and raw nuts that are rich in Vitamin A, B and E. Avoid Alcohol and caffeine. Avoid Facial Bleach, excess use of make-up, and harsh soap.
